I studied art at Curtin University in Western Australia and graduated with a BA in fine arts. But what prevailed at the time was abstract expressionistic style painting and very contemporary art. I feel like I always had a love and passion for the old masters and classical painting but missed out on that grounding while studying.

I have worked as a sign writer and graphic artist in the sign industry for 20 years and I am now coming back and desiring to rediscover my painting and wishing to be able to learn and explore the traditional techniques.

I really feel that it where my passions lie and have always felt impressed by the power and form of traditional painting techniques.

My favourite artist is Caravaggio, for his dramatic use of light and chiaroscuro.
