From Science to Art
Feedback from Elvira
As many of us, I was fascinated with drawing and painting since I was a child. Life did not allow me to get involved in art until later in my life.
A tragic event helped me to realize that some things should not be postponed, I started painting.
At the beginning, I was feeling like a person not able to speak. I wanted to say something, but was not able to do it. Slowly, my skills developed allowing me to say more. I feel that I need to walk several more steps to develop my art to the level I need to start talking.
Education in science and medicine really helps now in my figurative works.
I was mostly self-educated in art, that is why some knowledge of technique and basic rules is missing.
I hope, that Web Art Academy course could help me to fill in the gaps in my art skills and get to the level I would like to be at.
I think the “contemporary old master” is Odd Nerdrum because of his technique and philosophy.
I am fascinated with Rembrandt’s and Vermeer’s light. Trying to achieve at least some light effect in my paintings.
I would like to learn as much as possible about glazing, old masters mediums and supports preparation. I am fighting to achieve the effect of light, This is my main goal. Another challenge is skin tone mixing without getting chalky colors.
I am always looking for the way to improve my skills. Now, I am an Anatomy masterclass student and find the course really helpful. That is why I am sure, that web art academy membership would be helpful.
