Hiv positive and art keeps me moving passionately forward

I am 42 been painting as therapy for 20 years, I have been HIV positive for 24 years. For the past 16 years I have worked as hiv educator in South Africa but my mental heath forced me to live in a home for disabled. The only thing that keeps me going is my art, I spend my government grant on rent and art supplies. Thank you for this opportunity.

I think the “contemporary old master” is Vermeer the way he uses light and soft edges to make his studies so intimate gives me goose bumps.

My favourite artist is Tom Keating he just know so much about the way old masters painted I want to grow grey and wise like him
