Inner little painter dying to grow as an artist

Feedback from Euciane

I am a 39 years single mom originally from Brazil. I’ve been working as a marriage and family therapist/ art therapist and I started painting since I was 10 years old.

I got bachelors in fine arts in 2011. I feel like I did not get to learn the techniques I needed in school. My teachers were abstract artists and did not know what I was talking about when I mentioned that I wanted to learn the “old masters” techniques.

My dream is to learn how to master oils and create fabulous skin tones, fabric folds, and landscapes that are not drab.

Growing up in Brazil, I was surrounded by dilapidated buildings with no color and all I dreamed as a child was to get paint and brushes for Christmas. I wanted to paint a better world for myself . One of my uncles became my patron for a couple years and paid for my classes and art supplies. I was a very poor little girl, but I had such pride when carrying my wooden art box during the 90 minute trip by bus, on my own to an art studio. I feel like technique wise I am still that little 10 year old.
Although I enjoy the process, I want very much to finally feel confident and get satisfied with the results of my work.
