I am now in my 80th year and only began painting from books, videos and workshops 10 years ago.
So why did I start so late in life? Like so many others out there, when I was a teenager I wanted to study art but my father and the counselor at high school totally dissuaded me from going to art school, so I headed out on a different path.
I picked something that could earn me a living and something I would like. As the years rolled by I found myself describing all the paperwork I was doing as “works of art”, even though they were far from that, being merely columns of numbers. …
