The path to my soul

The path to my soul

Feedback from Jan Ostebo

I started this journey like most but having a mother who painted, taught painting and showed her work, that was it for me at a young age. I was always drawing even doodling most times to pass the time. Then in grade school and high school it seems that it took me over. I was constantly drawing everywhere I went.

As with most young adults I gave into the system and started to work in retail then money was the prize, not art but still drawing when not thinking about work. Then age 22 came I realized I wanted to go to school for art so I like many others applied to several schools but they needed a portfolio and me not having saved most of my works-well that ended swiftly as it started.
I now at age 45. I’am compelled to return to art to sharpen my god given talent to progress and make a living in which is my goal if selected for this wonderful opportunity.

I think the “contemporary old master” is Anders Soren. He also painted, sketched, etched what he saw and knew about daily life and using limited colors and tools saw the relevance and enduring natural world to express his visions.

My favourite artist is John Currie – he depicts the figure and a innocent feeling to his works I really enjoy.
