From scaler to paintbrush
Feedback from Christine
I pursued commercial art in the 80’s at a community college. I enjoyed it very much but the money ran out and I had to work in another field. I tried to improve my skills through books which wasn’t very helpful.
I am finished raising my children now so, I would like to have more instruction in painting. I just ended another painting course that was heavy on ebooks and light on actual video instruction. I really think I need someone to actually show me how to do a painting from start to finish.
My goal is to learn to draw and paint similar to the Masters. I know I’ll never be quite as good but, I’d like to come close.
Being an artist has been my dream for the past 40 years and I really want to become one now.
My favorite artists are John Singer Sargent and Sorolla; and also Bouguereau, because his paintings have beautiful color and composition.
My main challenge is finding the space and time to pursue it.
I would like to know a solvent free approach of oil painting.
Thanks for reading my story.
