Megan’s Dream of Becoming a Classical Painter.

I was trained mostly with alla prima techniques and I am older than many students so I scrape out a living as an artist both as a painter and as a graphic artist but my goal is to shift into replicating the quality in painting achieved by the old masters of the Renaissance.

I really want to learn how to produce the luminosity in skin tones and drapery that the old masters so wonderfully achieved. Also Leonardo’s sfumato.

As a perfectionist and my own worst critic I am willing to put in the extra time to achieve my artistic goals.

The paintings I sell currently are whimsical animal pictures. They are popular with certain clients as decorator items.

But I dream of achieving more. I strive for that shining excellence that with guidance I am confident I could attain.
