Hello! My name is Svetlana Belova. I am from Russia.
I return to art during all of my life and now I decided to be a professional artist. I have some experience in digital illustration and oil painting. I do commissioned works. However, I realize that I need to study. I love painting and want to do it my main thing in life…
I have spent my whole life working in a job that has nothing to do with art but always felt something was missing in my life. As a child I always drew and colored on any surface that was in front of me. As I got older, I became less involved in drawing and painting but still went to museums and collected the artwork of others. About ten years ago, my son became a green beret in the army and while I am truly proud of him, the stress of it is very real. I became depressed and gained weight worrying about the danger he was always in and had to find a better way of dealing with my emotions…
To tell you about myself, and my love of art, would take a lifetime. However, I shall try and give you a brief synopsis. My love for art started very young. Even at a young age, I wanted to learn how to draw and paint, just like the old masters. I would try to learn all I could about the old masters, not only their life but how they painted and why. I would spent hours trying to find out anything that I could, to help me learn. But, my yearning was never to be fulfilled. For the family I was born into, wasn’t a happy one. On the outside, people assumed we were happy and had a loving, caring family. But behind closed doors it was quite the opposite. I tell you this, not for pity, but to help you understand just where art takes place in my life…

I am an artist with a broken heart. I drew ever since I was little but I remember that one day painting my pictures in Crayola watercolor palette with my little pink chair and table saying. “when I grow up I want to be an artist.” From that point on drawn but the real person who told me never give up my was my 5th-grade teacher she loves to see what I made only to seen later on I was multi-talented between singing and my art never gave up on either. But I think art help through life the most…
I am 53 year old asian woman from russian Siberia who lives in Thailand. My birthplace is very, VERY cold! It is coldest place on the whole world. That is why I have decided to move in Chiang Mai when I retired. Chiang Mai is best place for artists and creative people. Lovely nature, lovely people. So many warm hearts around me! 2 years ago I recalled my children’s dream to become an artist and tried to draw. Now I have enough time to do what I really want. My favorite materials are charcoal and pencil, but last month I became to painting by oil colors and it is wonderful! …
I was born in Downey, Calif. May 20, 1955 (today’s date).
As early as I could remember, I had the passion and desire to becoming an artist, and told my mother so when I was only 5 years old. I soon saw that my drawing skills were different than my classmates as far as detail and accuracy, and continued to draw as much as I could.
In High School, being from a low income and rural area, there was no art instruction to gain any other knowledge from, so I continued to spend hours on my own after school drawing everything from National Geographic and other magazines I found interesting. …
