When I turned 17 a gallery accepted me to be an artist. I have been at this gallery ever sense. Its just I get commissions for paintings and I never got taught how to mix. I have been getting trained by a painter next store. I just hate to take her time. …

Feedback from Michael Swaine

I started oil painting at a very late time, in my sixties. I used to draw as a youth, but always thought that oil painting was too difficult a medium to attempt. As I reached my late fifties, I began to become more immersed in the experience of viewing great oil paintings in museums in America and Europe. My longwinding road to fullfill my wish

My longwinding road to fullfill my wish

Feedback from Jody Ditzel

I have always wanted to learn to paint and draw, as a child i was able to draw, even won a prize when I was 12. I drew my teacher in school, and this drawing was used in an exhibition of drawings made by students in my hometown in the Netherlands.

When I hit puberty life hit me too, I left home when I was 14 and stopped my creative learning process. Always longing to do that but had to struggle mentally and physically to remain healthy and alive. I managed quite well, got better at living and even managed to build a career.

Caravaggio’s crimes exposed in Rome’s police files

Caravaggio’s crimes exposed in Rome’s police files Michelangelo Merisi, aka Caravaggio, was notoriously bad-tempered and violent, constantly getting into physical altercations, confident that his moneyed patrons would fish him out of scrape after scrape. They mainly did, as it happened, and when they didn’t, he just skipped town for a while until the heat was off him. The stories about him have become part of his legend — the bad boy artist who lived fast, died young and left a sunstroked/syphilitic/stabbed/lead poisoned corpse — and it’s difficult to tell fact from gossip. Rome’s State Archives contain a myriad primary documents detailing Caravaggio’s many brushes with the law (among other information about his life and work) but until recently they were on…

Drawing and cartooning since a very young age. Appreciated the Renaissance masters, but youth and lack of discipline blocked a true growth. Now older, I have set to learn more and apply such skills in my vocation of caricature.
