Fine artist with unfulfilled dream

Fine artist with unfulfilled dream

Feedback from Aleksandra Šunjevaric?

I am 42 years old. I was surrounded with art my whole life, as my mother is fine artist (she studied fine art at Belgrade Art university, but unfortunately she is not familiar with old masters techniques), so as my grandfather. Unfortunately I was not able to study because of the lack of material resources and some other problems which I was going through. I have my mothers selfless assistance in my art, but I need professional help from someone who knows how to paint techniques of the old masters.

I’m sending my very first Flemish technique paintings I’ve painted last year. That was a time I first learn something about this technique. I find that this technique is perfectly suited to my sensibility and so I want to improve myself as best as I can. …

What makes my paintings happen to be little stories?

What makes my paintings happen to be little stories?

Feedback from Dirk van der Stouw

1961: When I was a 10 years old boy, I stood in the doorstep of the main room of our rented private holiday house as if I was strucked by lightning: looking at paintings on the walls – cityviews in beautyfull colours of Arabic cities.’This is want I want to make too’: was my first thought…

I started to make my first drawings in that particular holiday. It disappointed me all the time…

16 years old I tried to make my first oil paintings: copying the old masters and learning my self by reading all the books I could find and experimentalize with all my materials and fresh learned techniques. …

In Search of Excellence

Feedback from Allen Riddell

I am 55 and have been doing art for a long time. I studied very seriously at one point in my life but then got off track due to personal family obligations.

I am a high school art teacher for the last 8 years. I made the switch to teacher late in life because of the above mentioned reasons. I paint and draw in my free time, but not enough.
It has been hard to find an audience and sell my work because of competition and a non-responsive audience for realism.

Feedback from Anne Lykke Nielsen-Kudsk

I’m Anne from Denmark, I have a degree in ceramics. I have reached a point change in my life of art, I no longer feel drawn sculpture, and that way off working, as i have been doing for many years.

The canvas and diving into everything there is to learn about oil painting is becoming an inner calling, I spend time on it every chance I have, and I am determent to learn! …

Dreams can come true!

Dreams can come true!

Feedback from Lois Emmerich

I am a 57 yr old female from South Africa. I come from a large loving family but we certainly weren’t of the privileged few. Before I could read or write I was constantly drawing. When I went to school I wasn’t one of the most academic of children and preferred to draw during class. I built up a collection of portrait and figure drawings of my classmates, which went missing out of my locker. I eventually left school at an early age to start working to assist my mother who was holding two jobs at the time, day and night, and I just couldn’t watch her doing that anymore. …

Keep on trying!

Feedback from Anne

I started painting in watercolour thirty years ago. I love getting lost in time when I paint. It has been my greatest wish to paint in oils. I did use acrylics. And some oils but I seem to hesitate with oils even though I prefer the colour intensity of the pigments in oils…

Feedback from Levi

My name is Levi. I’m from Brazil, I live in a small town at Ceará state.
I’m 22 now, I always loved to see art, and mainly how all these amazing things are made. It serves to everything, when I like something instead of just buy, I like to know how it is made. Since I was a kid I loved to draw and paint, I feel that I’m nice copying simple drawings, so I decided to learn how to draw, I bought some books and I did read them… and I can say that they helped me to improve, but I still not happy with my results, …

I want to be confident!

I want to be confident!

Feedback from Debra Williams

I’m 38 and I started drawing 3 years ago as a stress relieving technique and I have become hooked ever since! Unfortunately I don’t have the resources to purse a formal education and I depend on the internet and books to help guide me. But because of this and the lack of critique I am unsure if I am on the correct path. I feel that by pursuing study at the Web Art Academy I will become more confident in painting. …

From scaler to paintbrush

From scaler to paintbrush

Feedback from Christine

I pursued commercial art in the 80’s at a community college. I enjoyed it very much but the money ran out and I had to work in another field. I tried to improve my skills through books which wasn’t very helpful.
I am finished raising my children now so, I would like to have more instruction in painting. I just ended another painting course that was heavy on ebooks and light on actual video instruction. I really think I need someone to actually show me how to do a painting from start to finish.
