Feedback from Brian Skillings

I am a young humanitarian that took on painting fairly recently. While I have mastered geometric paintings, realistic paintings are a new frontier I am concurring.

Feedback from Patrick Williams

I am 74 years of age, was raised in foster care and Mount Cashel Orphanage in Newfoundland which had been run by the Irish Christian Brothers many of whose individuals have been convicted of physical, psychological and sexual abuse around the world.

When I left the orphanage I walked and rode the rails across Newfoundland, an island. Stowed away on a ferry to Nova Scotia where I continued on hitch hiking now to Montreal. Upon arriving in Montreal I worked as a warehouse person, shipper while first training in ballroom and Latin Dancing. …

My life is my artwork

My life is my artwork

Feedback from Denise Brown

I am a watercolor/acrylic painter, equine artist and children’s book author and illustrator.
My book, “Wind, Wild Horse Rescue,” is about wild horses. The illustrations are 100 of my horse drawings and paintings, written through the eyes of a wild colt that gets captured in a round up. I am a wild horse advocate and wrote this book to make people aware of America’s wild mustangs’ plight for survival today. My blog posts wild horse news at www.windwildhorse.com.
My children’s books and coloring books include my landscape paintings, architectural renderings, animals and people illustrations to tell the stories.

I want to improve my drawing skills of people and children. I know the Web Art Academy courses will give me the tools I need to grow as an artist. …

Whimsical wanderings

Whimsical wanderings

Feedback from Megan Knarr

Growing up I was moved around a lot. I didn’t have one home, I had a different home every year. Because of this moving around, I see the world pretty differently than most of my peers.

I have so many ideas and not nearly enough time!

I commit myself to making some form of art at least once every day. My fault challenges right now are figuring out how to get orders of my art sold online. I’ve sold a couple art prints but I want to, rather NEED to, make this my living. My mind is wired too differently for The close are world so I need to make this my reality. …

I draw for about 8-10 hours a day

I draw for about 8-10 hours a day

Feedback from Min Sung

I started drawing when I was a child (about six years old) by copying characters from Japanese anime shows and manga. The characters looked very basic but they had a certain appeal. My family loved my drawings (my mom painted as a hobby, my sister has a bachelors degree in jewellery art), but for some reason, I quit art and drawing completely for over ten years.

I bought a sketchbook and started studying from Andrew Lomis, who teaches the constructive method of drawing. I also started studying anatomy in my spare time (by watching YouTube tutorials and reading/studying from books). This year I found out about your other course, the Anatomy Master Class and I have to say, it has been amazing! It teaches you everything you need to know about how different body parts work so it has been a great guide for me on how to draw the figure from imagination. …

I can make you smile

I can make you smile

Feedback from Kimbrella Adair

I have always loved art. I am a creative person and I am always seeking ways to improve my art. I want to learn the techniques of the master oil painters. I want to win the course because it would be a great boost to my skills in drawing. I am very interested in painting portraits.

People should vote for me because I want to build my confidence in painting portraits for people in assisted living and nursing homes. Maybe I can bring a smile to their face when they sit for a painted portrait.

Art is my escape from a world of numbers and accounting

Feedback from Frederick Jones

I’m a novice with an interest in oil painting of both landscapes and portraiture. Art is my escape from a world of numbers and accounting. I simply would like to learn.

I would like to win simply because it would allow me to learn at my own pace. I have this interest in learning the techniques of the Hudson River school and I’m a big fan of Rembrandt. …

35 years and still dreaming to become a painter

35 years and still dreaming to become a painter

Feedback from Luiz Dacosta

I’m Brazilian and I live in Rio de Janeiro. When I was young, I dreamed to be a painter. I just love fine arts but I didn’t have the chance to study in Art College.

I had to start working very early and I went to the advertising and publishing path. I’ve worked as art director, illustrator and graphic designer during all this years but the fine art never left my mind.

In Brazil is to dificult to enter in a college art school and the courses are not good enough. It’s difficult to find a really good art course or school that use the old masters method and their techniques as a reference. …
